The speaker, a kid of about sixteen with the tongue of a snake and ocean-blue eyes and diamond-shaped pupils, was lying on his bed, staring up at the ceiling. The other, a nineteen-year-old with silky black wolf ears sticking up out of his shaggy, bleached white hair, a tail the same color as his ears, and pupil-less black eyes, lay on the floor beside the bed and snorted. "Who cares, Xack?" he replied. "Where else is there to live? Surely not with those idiotic meat bag humans?"
